Kisaburo is the fourth-generation heir to Iwamoto Wasai, a bespoke kimono tailoring house with over a century of history. Carrying on the name of its founder, Kisaburo Iwamoto, a pioneering innovator in the kimono industry, Kisaburo reimagines the kimono beyond the boundaries of Japanese and Western dress, gender, and convention.
Through research into overlooked cultures and histories, Kisaburo creates contemporary artworks that place the kimono in dialogue with the present.
